Theatre
Today is the international women's day, and what better way to celebrate than going to the theatre. I went with Marta and we saw Astrid Lindgren's Ronja the Robber's Daughter at Trøndelag Teater.
It is not easy to set Ronja in a way that pleases everybody. We have all read the book, both when we were kids ourselves, and then several times for our own kids. At least I have done so. And I have also seen the film several times. But Trøndelag Teater made it. And they made it great! It was the same old story, and at the same time it was quite new. The robbers were not oldfashioned, but dressed as modern fighters, though they were still quite nice and vulnerable. The setting were modern and at the same time children of all ages could follow the story from beginning to end. I did not have one boring minute. Marta followed the story intensely, and had alot to talk about and laugh about in the car on our way home.
An extra bonus of the night is just going out, mother and daughter, at one of my favorite places, The Theatre! I hope to have many more nights like this. Tha last one was a couple of weeks ago with my husband when we saw Undset with Ellen Horn (a play about the late Norwegian writer and Nobel Prize winner Sigrid Undset), the next one will be in a couple of weeks to come when I and Ingrid and her friend will watch a much more modern play, Reality.
