March garden!
Here in Norway we will still have King Winter with us for some weeks. So there is still alot of time to enjoy cross country skiing. But at the same time days are getting longer and there are more birds singing out in the garden. Today was milder then the past days, and some of the snow has started to melt. And with these milder temperatures the snow becomes softer and is perfect to play in, to build snowmen for example. Marta and her friend spent a long time plying in the winter covered garden this afternoon.
Though I am fond of skiing I also look forward to spring now. I have been out photographing my garden looking for signs of spring. There were none yet, but soon, soon there will be sign of life, signs of the rebirth of nature.
This is my favorite season, with all spring and summer ahead. Time for searching through my shelves and cupboards hunting for my old garden books and magazines, and hidden seed packets. And soon time to spend part of the days out in the garden. Digging, watching thr growth, enjoying the firework of colours exploiding. But still everything is frozen and covered with snow, only the great expectation of coming life is there.

1 Comments:
There is nothing nicer than sitting inside a cosy room with gardening books and seed catalogues, imagining what the garden will look like in a few months time (or in my case, this year, what it COULD look like. perhaps next year - when college courses are over and I have the luxury of TIME on my hands :-)
Enjoy your book browsing, Britt-Arnhild!
