Easter holiday

Today was the last days at school before the 10 days Easter holidays. We always spend the holiday at our cabin, but with Ingrid's flu' we don't know how it will be this year. She is still laying on the coach most of the day, but today she started to eat a little, so she is getting better.

Easter vacation in Norway is a perfect time for cross country skiing. And also a perfect time for browsing galleries, museums and taking part in churhc concerts and services. And as lond as we are in town we are able to combine all this.

Today we woke to a perfect day. A little cold, 7 below zero (Celsius) when we woke, but a brigh sun shining from a blue sky. Terje, Marta and I packed our backpack, found our cross country skis and headed for the countryside. I can never be thankful enough for this house - for alot of reasons - one of them is it's closeness to the countryside. We don't need to drive anywhere, just carry our skis a couple of hundred meters and there we are, right in the middle of paradise. With miles and miles of cross country ski tracks. Marta was motivated for a long hike today, and we decided to ski to one of the farms / cabins in the forest where it is possible to buy hot drinks and snacks. There are several of them, and Rønningen farm is one of the cabins closest to us. Had to ski for about 7-8 kilometers to get there, a perfect distance for Marta, and perfect enough for me as well.

Had food in our backpack, but also bought "vafler" and chocolate cake at Rønningen. I remember the charm from my childhood to get to these cabins and buy snacks :-) There were alot of people out today, and with the perfect weather everybody wanted to sit outside of course. But we managed to squese in and had a very good half an hour enjoying sun and food.

Now, back home, I have had my shower, sat out on the terracce for some time enjoying more of the sun, and now have still 9 days left of Easter vacation.

You have done so much and written abouty so much since I last looked in, B-A!! You certainly do make the most of every moment. I LOVE the colour of the farmhouse - so beautiful against the snow.

I've been looking at your collections, too. You collect egg cups, I see. Hmmmm....

By the way - congratulations on Norwegian successes in the Iditarod race in Alaska!!
